Test/review of TLife 18650A Protected 2200mAh (Green)
TLife 18650A Protected 2200mAh (Green)
Button top and flat top protected TLife 2200mAh cells. TLife 18650A BT Protected 2200mAh (Green) Official specifications:
This is a low capacity, low current cell. Tmart has this cell in four configurations, this is the protected button top. The protection limits the current from this cell to less than 3A, the curves looks good enough. With this low current there are absolutely no temperature problems. Due to the low protection threshold the battery cannot drive a 10W light. TLife 18650A FT Protected 2200mAh (Green) Official specifications:
This is a low capacity, low current cell. Tmart has this cell in four configurations, this is the protected flat top. Something is wrong here, a 2500mAh battery has sneaked into the 2200mAh collection of 2200mAh batteries. This makes me doubt the quality control. Both types of batteries handles stays cool. Conclusion Due to the low protection threshold these cells are not for 1000 lumen flashlights, but only for equipment with a very moderate current consumption. Generally these batteries has looked acceptable, but the 2500mAh cell is strange. Notes and links The batteries was supplied by TMart.com for a review. How is the test done and how to read the charts How is a protected LiIon battery constructed More about button top and flat top batteries Compare to 18650 and other batteries
