I've got the new Olight S35 and S65 Baton here for review. These lights were sent to my by 4sevens for review purposes.

I didn't receive any included accessories, manual or anything with these lights so I can't comment on those items.

O-ring design is similar to that of the SR51. It's red in color, and after the light has been ran for a while, the o-ring emits a very slight glow in complete darkness.










Other than the length differences between these two lights, they are very similar in appearance and size:















Both of these lights also have a low voltage indicator that lets you know your batteries are getting low. The notification is done by flashing the light activation switch. When activated, you will notice two flashes, then a pause, followed by two flashes again, and so on and so forth:













Operation:

The operation is the same for both lights. Both lights have three brightness levels and a strobe mode. Press the activation switch once to activate the light. The light will turn on in the mode that was last used. Once the light has turned on, press and hold the activation switch, and the light will start cycling through all three brightness modes (low, medium and high). You do not have to cycle through strobe to access different brightness levels. When you reach the mode you want to use, simply release the activation switch and you've now selected your mode.

I should mention that both of these lights have a lockout feature (similar to SR51). If you hold the activation switch down for longer than about 9 or 10 seconds when cycling through the brightness modes, the light will enter the lockout feature. When this happens, the only response you will get from the light is a red flash of the activation switch when trying to activate the light. The light cannot be activated until the light has been taken out of lockout mode. The lockout feature could be useful when placing the light in a bag when going on a trip or outdoor activity because it will keep the light from accidentally being activated and draining your batteries without you knowing. To deactivate the lockout feature, simply tap the activation switch three times consecutively and the light will turn on and function correctly.

To activate the strobe mode you simply tap the activation switch two times consecutively. It doesn't matter if the light is turned on or off, simply press the activation switch twice and you will activate strobe.










Now for the dyno testing .




For those of you who aren't aware, I have my own calibrated homemade integrating sphere (I have two, actually) for measuring lumen output of different lights. My sphere's have been calibrated using lights that were measured in a professional lab sphere, so my lumen results are very accurate. However, due to common variables such as temperature differences, battery charge state differences, and even differences within the components used within each and every light, you should only use my results as an example of what one sample outputs in OTF lumens. If you purchase one of these lights I'm sure the output would be similar, provided all variables are similar, but your light may not produce exactly the same output as this sample. The output could be less, the output could be more, it just depends.

Okay, now that I've got that out of the way, here are my OTF lumen results for these lights. The S65 has thermal regulation/protection. The S35 may have this feature as well, but it simply doesn't produce enough heat to activate this feature. Looking at my S65 graph, you will notice thermal regulation activating and deactivating throughout the run time. This explains the dips in output throughout the graph. For anyone who doesn't know, thermal regulation is used to #1- keep you from being injured due to excessive heat, which could burn you and/or cause certain battery types to explode from excessive heat. And #2- it's also done to protect the components of the light, which keeps the light in perfect working order no matter the environment:

Note that I had intentions of running the S65 down to the same output as I did with the S35, but I had unexpected personal business to take care of, which caused me to end my testing early. I really hated to do that, but fortunately it happened when it did and not an hour into the run time, which would have caused me to loose an hour's worth of work, and have to redo.

Because purchasing 3- 4x AA packs will give you 4 refills for the S35 and 2 refills for the S65 j/k, j/k. Seriously, though, I would guess they designed it this way to extend run time.

Есть, но щелочь не выдерживает таких токов и проваливается. На никеле картина совершенно другая. А 65 булка и так понятно почему по стабильнее - токи на каждую батарейку при 500 люменах меньше.

три - это что бы еще одна оставалась в налобник, а 6 - что бы осталось в налобник на два раза в зебру или на раз в феникс))))

С резиновыми кольцами только в этих моделях ничего не ясно! В комплекте есть две штуки, а на фонаре вообще нет, вот и думая что хочешь, хотя канавка под оринг в хвосте есть.
